Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an entrance examination that tests the skill of the candidate in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. It not only tests the objective skill but even the technical skill of the candidate. The GATE score is even considered as a gateway for various Government and Private Jobs. GATE scores are now doing direct recruitment to various government jobs.

Exam Pattern of GATE 2017
The examination will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. There will be a total of 65 questions. The questions will be objective type as well as numerical. The candidate will have to choose the right answer from the available options. The negative marking is carried by each wrong answers. The cut off marking is different for all the sections.
The scorecard of the candidate will be valid for three years. This year the result will be announced on 19 March 2017 at 05:00 PM. The score card will be available to download in between March 27th, 2017 to May 29th, 2017.
The answer key for the test is already released. The candidates can go through the answer key and can make a rough calculation of the score. The candidates getting the score above the cut off will be qualified in the test. The qualified candidates will be allotted ranks.
GATE 2017 cutoff marks Branch Wise
The GATE examination for all the Branches is conducted separately on different dates. The examination becomes tougher every year due to the increase in competition. The cut off marking to be obtained for qualifying in the test will be specified by the organising Institute separately for all the categories. The cut off marking is different for all the categories.
The results of the GATE 2017 Examination will be released on the same date for all the Branches. The candidates can check the result as soon as released by the Board. The score obtained by the candidate in the GATE examination can be taken for getting admissions for Post Graduation courses in various Government and Self Financing Institutions.
